Morning Storm Cloud
I'm sure there are a few of you out there that are, or were parents of teenagers. Certainly all of us were teenagers once upon a time. In our household, we're working on the third of three, and there never seems to be an end to the challenges presented.
What the heck do you do when your darling teenager drives you to the absolute edge? Poised on the brink of insanity. What do you do when almost every morning you turn into a nagging shrew? Nagging to get said teenager out of bed, fighting for space in any given room in the house (mainly the bathroom). There's no shortage of pitched voices, indignant, smart ass comments, stomping, slamming. The list goes on and on.
In this morning's grand finale, the teenager was punted out at the bus stop, both parent and student guaranteed to be late for work/school.
And what do you do as you watch your child, the one you cradled with endless lovecenturies 15 years ago, cross the street to catch the bus and you have to resist the urge to run her over? What do you do as you drive away fuming, wanting to run something over? You get to your office late and continue clinging to the dark, stormy cloud above your head, slamming drawers, stomping around until slowly the miserable shrew recedes and you think - what a horrible, crappy parting between parent and child!
How do you change!?
