If it's February, there must be birthdays (and colds)

A week ago Friday was #2's birthday and dear #4 made him a cake. Unfortunately it was a few days later before #2 was up to trying a piece.

There we were a family with 2 birthdays in the span of 4 days, 2 birthday cakes in the house with all of us (except #4) too sick to really want any.

While the coughing, the sneezing, the fevers, the abscessed tooth, the tonsilitis, and the strep throat kept the cakes at bay for a few days for all of us, once he had a slice #2 declared the cake better than the store bought one from Maxims.

Must be her teacher. #4 and her friend, the Martha Stewart of the North Shore slaved over this masterpiece well into the evening as evidenced by the exhausted look on #4's face as well as by the fact that it had to be late, the brain cells had to be sleeping....why else would she decorate a cake for her DAD with.......

Two Toque Tuesday

Another month, another finished object or two ...... two toques
One in basic 3 x 3 ribbing in the Canucks colours for #3

and the other, the Karlchen hat with a special morse code message. I happened upon this site and thought it would be ideal for this hat - the original message "I'm not wearing any underwear" seemed like the perfect hidden message given the sense of humour of the recipient. But then I started thinking I should put his business name and phone number on it so that he could pay me .... oh maybe $5,ooo dollars and write it off as a business advertising expense. Unfortunately I didn't do a very good job of planning out the spacing. I only managed to get the first three digits of his phone number in after the name. Not much of an advertisment, I guess I'll have to forego the fee ;)

Click to Donate a Mammogram

I have a favour to ask, it only takes a minute.... and it doesn’t cost a thing.

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammograms in exchange for advertising.

Here is the web site, please pass it along to people you know.
