A B C Baby Blanket
ABC, it’s easy as 123…..really?!? Not when it’s the ABC Baby Blanket. It’s got to be 45 years since I’ve had this much difficulty with the alphabet. And to believe, I was actually tinkering with the idea of doing a Greek Alphabet Baby blanket. I can’t even handle the english alphabet, I can’t imagine how crazy the greek alphabet would be making me by now.
This is the third, yes third go around with S*T*U*V*W. I’m beginning to feel S*T*U*P*I*D. These yarn overs, SSK and K2T are driving me to distraction. I think I begin to get a little over confident in my ability to glance at the chart and decipher / and \ and convert the symbol in my mind to the appropriate knitted stitch. Then when I stop to admire my handywork about two or three or *sigh* 15 rows later, I realize to my horror that I’ve screwed up.

I’ve tried to reason that no one else will see the mistake but who am I kidding. Sure , the intended recipient certainly won’t be able to discern the alphabet for the first 3 to 4 years of his life and by that time, will have moved on to more exciting things than an alphabet blankie. But I couldn’t stand looking at the screw ups so out they came.
I can’t seem to convince a certain inhabitant of this house to pick up needles and give knitting a try, but she was more than willing to rip out the stitches for me.

A What in a Pear Tree???
It's been a while since my last post - a month to be precise. Either I just can't get my act together to write something interesting or entertaining (assuming that some of my past posts fit either of those categories), or I truly don't have anything to say. I think it's the former.
I'm taking the easy way out again and linking to an article I just saw. This serves a dual purpose, actually. I'm posting on the blog with minimal effort AND I'm showing my kids (and their friends) that I'm not as obsessed as some people.
