Time Passages
Two dozen years ago today, this young couple started their journey together across the stepping stones of that little ol' pond called married life. It's been quite a journey. Always a new stone to jump onto, and every few years the stones have gotten just a little bit bigger so as to hold not just these two, but first a son, then a daughter and not long after, another daughter. Sometimes there's even room for the beagle.
At times through the years, it may have seemed to one or the other of these two that they might be navigating across a pond filled with crocodiles, times when one or the both may have felt they took the wrong path, times when one or the other of them may have felt like heading off on a path of stones all their own. But for all of the challenges that they've faced on this journey, they've faced them together. Through thick and thin, sickness and health, high tide and low.
In London a few years back, while walking across the Tower Bridge, a group of young ladies came towards us. All of them were dressed in jeans and pink t-shirts, one of the 'girls' was also sporting a little white veil. A stag-ette - British style. As we approached, one of them asked if we had some wise words of advice for her friend who was about to be married in a few days.
What would you ladies give as sage advice to a soon to be wed young woman? You tell me your thoughts and I'll tell you next post, what #2 and I each told her.
